Comparative Study
The Comparative Study is one of the three exam components for the IB Art Visual course. It is an independent, critical, and contextual investigation that explores artworks from differing cultural contexts. I researched "Celia Thaxter's Garden, Isles of Shoals, Maine" by Childe Hassam, "Irises in Monet's Garden" by Claude Monet, and "Garden in Wannsee" by Max Liebermann, to answer my research question -- To what extent the painting techniques and color schemes in Celia Thaxter’s Garden, Isles of Shoals, Maine, Irises in Monet’s Garden, and Garden in Wannsee impressionist paintings represent reality?
